Immerse yourself in a weekend of Old-Time music set against the breathtaking backdrop of the Bavarian Alps. From (tba) to (tba), 2025, join us at the scenic Lake Kochel (Kochelsee) for the "Old-Time in the Alps" (OTITA) music camp. Just an hour south of Munich and 40 minutes north of the renowned violin-making town of Mittenwald, our camp offers a perfect blend of music, nature, and culture.

Who can join?
The camp is for Old-Time musicians. We especially also like to encourage people from other genres, such as Bluegrass or any other, who are curious, but never played Old-Time music before. Come into our beautiful community!
LocationCastle "Schloss Aspenstein", Kochel am See, Germany: The location provides plenty idyllic spots for indoor and outdoor jams with great views. No nearby Neighbors, so making music all night guaranteed!

Workshops
We aim to offer a wide variety of workshops. If YOU would like to share your knowledge and conduct a workshop (either 90 minutes), please let us know (by filling out the registration form or sending an email). Workshops can cater to all levels, from beginners to advanced, covering topics ranging from rhythm to teaching tunes.

About us
“Old-Time in the Alps” (OTITA) originated in Switzerland and has been hosted there five times. Since 2024 it is held in Bavaria.

- Located about 75 km south of Munich, directly in Kochel
- By train: direct connection from Munich main station (“Hauptbahnhof”)
- By car: via the highway A95 “Munich-Garmisch”

- €50 reservation fee per person required upon registration, credited towards participation but non-refundable upon cancellation. Thank you for your understanding.
